OLIP is a paid 10 month non-partisan programme providing backbench Members of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario with qualified intern assistants.

The Ontario Legislature Internship Programme is a nonpartisan programme. What is nonpartisanship? Nonpartisanship means not being affiliated with a political party, or publicly endorsing positions on matters of public policy. Since OLIP interns will work with both government and opposition MPPs, they are expected to remain politically neutral in a variety of political settings. Prior partisan activity may make your application ineligible.

Please read the following instructions carefully.
The OLIP online application features ten components. Please complete all sections. Once all ten components are complete, a "Submit Application" button will appear at the bottom of the page. After clicking this button, you will be directed to our secure online payment gateway. You will be asked to make a payment of a $25 administrative fee using a credit card (the system will not accept debit cards or pre-paid cards). Following this, you will receive an email confirming the completion of your application. All Ontario Legislature Internship Programme intern applications must be completed by January 31st, 2024.
It is not until your payment is processed that the application system will send a reference letter request to your three selected referees. References must submit their letters of reference by February 7th, 2024. You will receive an email confirmation after all three references have been submitted.
